Quick start guide
How to install the Packsmith app and Packsmith Shopify integration so you can start fulfilling orders.
Before you start
Packsmith only works with Shopify, so you'll need to:
- Have a Shopify store already set up.
- Use the same email address for your Shopify account and your Packsmith account.
Right now, Packsmith supports one email account per Shopify store – whoever connects first becomes the associated email! If you’re working with a team, we recommend coordinating to avoid packing the same order twice.
Option 1: Install the Packsmith Shopify Integration first
- Locate the Packsmith app on the Shopify App Store.
- Click Install and follow the steps to add the app to your store.
- Complete each of the steps on the Welcome to Packsmith screen.
- Once installed, download the Packsmith app on your iPhone.
- Open the app and sign up using the email account that’s associated with your Shopify store.
That’s it! Your store will connect automatically. You only need to go through this setup once. After your store is connected, your Shopify orders will sync automatically.
Option 2: Start from the Packsmith app
- Download the Packsmith app from the App Store.
- Open the app and sign up using the same email address as your Shopify store.
- Tap Connect to Shopify when you see the screen that says Let’s get connected.
- Follow the prompt to open Shopify.
- Tap Install on the Packsmith app listing in the Shopify App Store.
- Select your store, if prompted (Shopify may ask this if you manage more than one).
- Approve the app install when the Packsmith Shopify app opens for setup.
- Switch back to the Packsmith mobile app. You’ll land on the Orders page, and your Shopify store will start syncing automatically.
Packsmith is currently available on iOS only (iOS 12 or later). We’re working on Android support – stay tuned!
Common issues
Wrong email address: If your Packsmith email doesn’t match your Shopify email, the connection won’t work. Log out of the app, and log back in with the address you use in Shopify.
Multiple Shopify stores: Right now, we only support one Shopify store per Packsmith account.
No prompt to connect: If you don’t see the option to connect your store in the app, make sure you’re signed in and haven’t already connected a store.
Shopify has been connected, but no orders are showing in the app: Quit the app, and re-open, or log out of your account and log back in to force the order refresh.
What’s next?
Once your store is connected, your existing Shopify orders will appear in the Orders screen of the mobile app. From there, you can start fulfilling orders in Packsmith.
