Where can I use Packsmith?
You can use Packsmith in the United States to ship domestic U.S. orders, or in Australia to ship domestic Australia orders. Stay tuned – we’re planning to support international shipping and other regions in the future.
Can I create a label without a Shopify order?
Not right now. Packsmith requires a connected Shopify store, and all labels must be tied to existing Shopify orders.
What’s the difference between the mobile app and Packsmith’s fulfillment service?
The Packsmith app is designed for brands that ship their own orders. You pick, pack, and ship using your own supplies and space while using the same tools that power Packsmith fulfillment.
Packmith’s fulfillment service is for brands who are ready for a fulfillment partner – we store your inventory and handle everything from packing to carrier handoff.
If you're interested in growing into Packsmith's fulfillment network, reach out to our team to learn more.
Can I cancel or void a label?
As long as the label hasn’t been scanned into the carrier network, you may cancel it if you don’t intend to use it. Contact us to request a cancellation. We’ll need the full tracking number to action the request.
If a cancelled label is scanned by the carrier at any point, they will reject the shipment and return the shipment to the sender. This may incur an additional RTS charge.
Can I use Packsmith without a scanner or printer?
Definitely! You can swipe right on each item to mark it as fulfilled in the order. You will, however, need an AirPrint printer in order to print a label. If you don’t have one, you can always download the label and print it elsewhere.
What can I ship with Packsmith?
Most standard consumer products are fine – but no prohibited or dangerous goods (e.g. lithium batteries, aerosols, perishables, or flammable items).
How am I billed for shipping labels?
You’ll add a credit card in the Packsmith app or via the Packsmith Shopify app. Each label purchase is charged directly to that card in local currency (USD or AUD, based on your location). Some additional fees, like carrier adjustments or return-to-sender charges may be added later. Learn more here.
What carriers does Packsmith support?
In the U.S. we support a range of major U.S. carriers, and are always looking to add more. Currently, we support USPS, FedEx, and UPS. In Australia, we support label creation with Sendle, with more in the works!
Can I choose which carriers show up in the app?
Yes. You can manage your active carriers in the Shipping Carriers section of the Packsmith Shopify app. This lets you hide any carriers you don’t want to use when buying labels.
You can toggle carriers on/off, but not individual service levels, like ground or express.
Can I save my box sizes or packaging options?
Yes, in fact, we suggest you do. In the Packaging section of the Packsmith Shopify app, you can add the dimensions and weights of the packaging you currently use. This helps Packsmith recommend the best fit for every order.
Does Packsmith support multiple users or packers?
Right now, Packsmith only supports one account per Shopify store. If you’re working with a team, you’ll need to share login credentials. Be sure to coordinate with your team to avoid double-packing the same order.
Can I use my own Bluetooth printer or scanner?
You can use our supported Bluetooth scanner and printer! More on this here.
